Lesson 2.2: Normalizing Tools and Aids

IN THIS LESSON

Reclaiming Sexual Agency

After understanding how desire can change, the next step is exploring what you can do to reconnect with pleasure on your own terms.

Normalizing Tools and Aids

This is a judgment-free zone: whether you’ve explored before or this is new. Sexual tools and personal exploration are meaningful ways to stay connected to your body, your identity, and your desire.

It might feel awkward or intimidating at first — and that’s okay. What matters is taking the pressure off performance and tuning into what feels good for you. I’m just here to tell you that it’s okay to try, whether it’s toys, self-pleasure, or just lube. If you need someone’s permission, you have it.

Some really practical tips:

  • Lube is important – especially with toys or other tools! Prioritize your comfort, people! While orgasm does not ever have to be the goal, it is statistically more likely with lube than without it.

  • Many people need more than just penetration – don’t neglect the clitoris.

If you would like some resources, I’ve linked to a brand below which may be particularly helpful – they put a great emphasis on those working through pain or discomfort with sex.
